Xinran/Alier was born in Nanjing, China. Her passion for music emerged early on, as she started playing the piano as a kid. She is also a passionate singer, which never shies away from an opportunity to share her love for singing.

After moving to Berlin for her studies, she truly discovered her interest in street music. In Berlin's vibrant, multicultural environment, she encountered a thriving community of street musicians. She felt a unique connection with them, admiring the freedom they embodied in the way they brought music into the urban landscape.

During a solo trip to Budapest, Alier embarked on a personal project, conducting interviews with street musicians she met along the way. She was drawn to their fascinating stories, documenting their lives, their inspirations, and their struggles.
